A proud native of Texarkana, Arkansas, Chametra embodies what it truly means to serve with purpose. She wears many hats—an educator, a business owner, and a woman driven by faith and love for her community—and her story is one of resilience, faith, and an unshakeable desire to make a difference.
Growing up with strong family influences, Chametra learned early the importance of hard work, faith, and education. Her journey led her to become a 6th-grade teacher in the Arkansas Independent School District, where she dedicates her days to shaping young minds—particularly in communities that need it most. More than just a teacher, she strives to be a positive force—someone who inspires confidence, curiosity, and hope in her students.
But her impact extends far beyond the classroom. Chametra is also a talented entrepreneur and community advocate. She owns and operates Classy Girls Salon, a space where she helps locals feel confident through beauty services like haircuts and color treatments. Her love for empowering others through self-care is more than a business; it’s a way to lift spirits and build self-esteem. She also runs the Classy Girls Travel Agency, assisting families and individuals in creating memorable trips and experiences that bring joy and relaxation. Additionally, as an EFTour Coordinator, she organizes educational travel for students, opening their eyes to new cultures, history, and possibilities beyond their everyday lives.
Receiving recognition as a community spotlighted individual is a humbling honor for Chametra. She sees it as validation for her efforts but remains grounded in her faith and purpose. “It’s a blessing,” she shares. “It reminds me that what I do—no matter how small—matters. I just want to be a positive influence and serve others with kindness and love.”
Her inspiration comes from her family—her mother, grandmother, husband, and children—whose unwavering faith, wisdom, and strength continue to motivate her. She’s faced her share of hardships, losing loved ones along her journey, but those losses have only fortified her resolve. Every challenge has taught her the importance of perseverance and faith, fueling her desire to uplift others and leave a lasting legacy.
